4. Behemoth “Alas, Lord is Upon Me”
It’s undeniable that the creative collaboration between Grupa 13 and Behemoth has produced some of the best modern metal videos. One video in particular, “Alas, Lord is Upon Me,” is probably my favorite to date. By the first minute, we’ve seen Nergal in chains with bloody wings, and a child pouring blood onto a priest from a watering can. These are impactful and striking visuals that are hard to forget, and maybe even more importantly, they are super creepy. I rate videos like this highly because 1) they are a treat to watch, 2) it is much easier to fuck a concept like this up rather than do it well. The execution, in this case, is absolutely phenomenal.
