3. The Black Dahlia Murder “Moonlight Equilibrium”
Dave Brodsky absolutely nailed the classic horror movie atmosphere in The Black Dahlia Murder’s “Moonlight Equilibrium.” The video is a Victorian-era werewolf story, complete with brutal werewolf kills and a horror movie staple: boobs (sorry for the censor bar, youtube doesn’t like nudity!). This is simply a fun video and a not-so-common case where an entertaining concept fit so perfectly with the song’s lyrics. And I strongly feel that Trevor Strnad’s lyrics and storytelling abilities are vastly underrated. Those that take the time to dive into the TBDM’s songs already know, but his prose if often quite poetic.

Blood of the lycan within thee,
Enthroned heir to their cosmic fathers unknown,Who traileth not far from where death would increase,
Seek they to murder,
To rid the world clean
A curse by the ancients of bloodline befouled.
The clouds they are parting,
The moon has come out.
