9. The Last House on the Left
This is how you water down the original but still make it effective (Martyrs, take note). Despite the fact that ***SPOILER ALERT*** Mari (Sara Paxton) survives the film, the film still packs a pretty good punch. If it weren’t for that silly microwave bit (which was spoiled in all the trailers) and Sadie’s (Riki Lindhome) anticlimactic death, The Last House on the Left would probably rank higher on this list.
