8. The Blob
From Chuck Russell, the director of A Nightmare on Elm Street 3, comes The Blob. The Blob is one of the most fun horror movies to come out of the 80s. It is by no means high art, but it knows exactly the type of film it is: a gross, gory B-movie. The practical effects alone merit a watch (seriously, they’re outstanding). A young Kevin Dillon and Shawnee Smith make for two compelling leads. A kid dies. People get sucked into sinks. It’s awesome.
