5. The Hills Have Eyes
Alexandre Aja really gets horror, doesn’t he? I confess, I’m not the biggest fan of Wes Craven’s original film. It’s a solid effort, but it hasn’t aged well and it’s sort of boring now. Aja’s revamped and refueled The Hills Have Eyes is a brutal assault on the senses that practically throws blood at the camera. It is very difficult to watch, but is arguably Aja’s greatest contribution to the horror genre.
