Audition (Takeshi Miike, 1999) – A widower tries to find a new wife via a special audition arranged for screen girls. There, he meets not-so-ordinary woman. The film of Takeshi Miike, the Japanese joker and the fan postmodernist violence (Ichi the Killer, Dead or Alive), thisis not as ironic as many of his works, but as usual there is a lot of gore and gruesome detail. A half of the audience is said to have left the theatre at the European premier during the torture episode. However for my opinion the most interesting parts of the movie are not the dismemberment, but the twisted end.
