Eyes Without a Face (Georges Franju, 1960) – A genius surgeon and his beautiful female assistant kidnap girls and cut their faces. Of course, any film about mad surgeons, including the recent weird The Human Centipede (Tom Six, Netherland, 2009) owes a debt to Franju’s movie. It is highly recommended to fans of the Halloween series: John Carpenter says the mask of Michel Mayers was inspired by this film.
