Sergey Kuznetsov’s Top 13 Serial Killer Movies!

all-funny-games-4

Funny Games (Michael Haneke, 1997) – The famous Austrian director tells the story of two young guys who capture and kill an ordinary family. Watch the film if you want to know what happens when an art-house film director makes a horror movie about serial killers (and don’t miss the 2007 US remake, also directed by Haneke). There is no torture and gore but a lot of the emotional violence. As a result, the characters and audience share the feeling of the feebleness and helplessness. The critics wrote that it’s the investigation of the nature of totalitarianism and the banality of evil. Perhaps, it is true, but it’s one of the most unpleasant films in the list anyway.
