American Psycho (2000)
Bret Easton Ellis wrote American Psycho a full nine years before Mary Harron directed the film adaptation. Once considered unfilmable, the novel is even more graphic than the film. In fact, once could consider the film tame in comparison. The novel isn’t for everyone (it contains a lot of lists of brand names), but it’s one of the most unique reading experiences you’ll ever have.
