11.) The Burning
A summer camp set ‘80s slasher with a burned and disfigured killer only passed for theatrical release with cuts. The distributor made a mistake and released the film uncut upon video release, which triggered the film for the Video Nasties list. The offended scenes were the raft massacre and Cropsey’s murder of a woman with a pair of scissors. It likely didn’t help that Tom Savini was in charge of the gore effects. It finally passed uncut in 2002.
