More commonly known as The Dorm that Dripped Blood, Pranks is slasher that follows students that fall victim to a killer squatting in the derelict building that they’re clearing out. It’s far less exciting than it sounds. The low budget made the kills even less exciting, but a kill involving a drill likely triggered the BBFC, as did the cover box with the bat weapon. The video released was the same R-rated US cut, and was eventually dropped from the Video Nasties list. When the UK re-released in 1992, the BBFC trimmed an additional 10 seconds. The uncut director’s version did find its way into the US market, though.
