38.) The House by the Cemetery
Italian gore master Lucio Fulci found himself with another film in contention with the DPP, this time over poker stabbings, decapitations, and throat slashings. The plot itself, in which a family moves into a house that’s still home to the experiments of Dr. Freudstein, takes a back seat to the gore. But that’s not why we love Fulci so much anyway, right? Even though the home release shared the same cuts of the theatrical version, the video was still prosecuted and banned. The movie went through three different passes through the BBFC, each one granted certification with cuts, until the final uncut release in 2009.
