26.) Don’t Look in the Basement

Following a murder, a young nurse goes to work at an asylum and finds herself at the mercy of the patients. A slow burn horror film that proved super popular at the drive-in upon its release, there are probably two reasons this was added to the list. Its initial release was as part of a double bill at the drive-in with Last House on the Left, and an unexpectedly violent, savage climax to a rather slow-paced film that spent time making you get to know its characters. With the video release being a heavily cut version of the US cut release, the film was dropped from the list.
