Also known as Trauma and The House on Straw Hill, Udo Kier stars as a novelist renting a quiet house to finish his current work in progress. The housekeeper he hires turns out to be the wife of a man who killed himself over the novelist stealing his manuscript. It’s lurid and sexual, and the rape scene drew particular ire, making this film effectively prosecuted and banned. It was released with cuts in 1987, but hasn’t been resubmitted since. The US released the film uncut in 2013.
