8.) Blood Rites
Released originally as The Ghastly Ones, this Video Nasty was famously referred to in Stephen King’s novel Danse Macabre as one “the work of morons with cameras.” Directed by Andy Milligan, and later remade by him in 1978, this one sees a group of sisters returning home upon their dying father’s wish only to be murdered one by one. Decapitations, dismemberments, and gore a plenty, even though extremely low budget, but it’s likely the scene that sees a guy eat a live rabbit that triggered the censors. Successfully prosecuted and banned, it hasn’t been re-released uncut.
