Also known as Drop Dead, Dearest, this Video Nasty might actually be based on the murder trial of Peter Demeter. The film’s plot sees a husband the number one suspect in his wife’s murder, with her death being played out in a number of ways in incoherent flashbacks. Even though the deaths feature things like the wife getting her head bashed in or being electrocuted in the swimming pool, it’s more than likely the tagline on the cover box that landed this one in the DPP hot seat. “For those who like their sex with a lot of violence,” triggers the biggest pet peeve of the BBFC, perhaps outside of animal cruelty, which is sexual violence. It only stayed on the Video Nasties for a small period before it was dropped.
