52.) Nightmare Maker
More known as Butcher, Baker, Nightmare Maker, the plot sees a high school kid who’s been raised by his overly protective aunt after his parents die in a car crash. She’s so protective that she’ll kill any girl who wants to get close to him. In terms of horror, it’s pretty tame. Especially in contract to other films on the Video Nasties list. But it was likely the incestuous nature of the aunt/nephew relationship that gave the DPP pause. It was eventually dropped from the list and not prosecuted, though a cut version was submitted and rejected in 1987. It didn’t get a UK release, but a limited release made its way to the US in 2016.
