Of course, the grandfather of gore himself, Herschell Gordon Lewis, would land on the Video Nasties list. Revolving around an Egyptian caterer that butchers women and uses their body parts to build a new host for his goddess Ishtar, it was pretty gory for its time. Blood Feast was also among the first to be successfully prosecuted and banned, only earning an uncut re-release when resubmitted for classification in 2005.
