58.) Prisoner of the Cannibal God
Otherwise known as Slave of the Cannibal God or Mountain of the Cannibal God, this Italian cannibal feature landed on the list for gratuitous animal violence. A lizard being split open, a turtle being fed to a crocodile, and a monkey being swallowed by a snake all put the BBFC on alert. However, these scenes were cut for the theatrical release, and because the video was the same trimmed cut, Prisoner of a Cannibal God was eventually dropped from the list. Director Sergio Martino has stated that the scenes of animal violence was inserted into the initial film at the insistence of the distributor, and only the European uncut release every showed these scenes.
