Lumped in with the 33 films that were eventually removed from the DPP’s list and not prosecuted, this Video Nasty finally passed uncut in 2006 (2004 in the US). What likely caught the DPP’s attention in the first place was the tagline on the VHS cover that said, “A young woman’s nightmares of incest and castration…” The reality, though, was that it wasn’t nearly as gory as it was implied. As for the plot itself, about a disturbed woman haunted by past memories that builds to a murder spree, plays out as a psychological horror rather than the slasher suggested.
