61.) Snuff

A “snuff” film that follows the exploits of a cult leader that oversees a series of “real” killings, the low budget makes this impossible to buy into the authenticity that its marketing went for. From obvious plastic finger dismemberments and other cheesy effects, Snuff was prosecuted and banned until 2003. Thanks to a marketing campaign that advertised this as a true snuff film, and the title alone, is likely what made the DPP set its sights on this one.
